History

The history of Tecnilab began in 1978 when the company built the first equipment for civil engineering laboratories. It was the beginning of a series of investments, expansions and diversifications of commercial, industrial activity and engineering services.

 

The Company has developed its business around the instrumentation and control in various areas of the economy, with particular emphasis on the energy, water and industry.

 

Result of sustained growth in 1987 was opened branch of Porto, giving the Company a nationwide scale.

 

The development of automation at all levels, meant that in 1999, are made investments in this area with the acquisition of part of the shares 2L today 100 % of  Tecnilab  and a national reference in the field of automation. The modernization of the country in the water sector with the introduction of new technology  has been fundamental to the growth of the Company, which became a reference in the design and implementation of remote management systems.

 

In the constant search for new solutions and providing for the need of improved water distribution networks, especially in terms of managing the pressures, in 2001 the Tecnilab acquired part of the capital of Valcon Company, manufacturer of hydraulic control valves, having built a new manufacturing and totally redesigned the product line in order to create conditions for good performance in the domestic market, and particularly in export activity.

 

In 2003 during the celebrations of 25 years, Tecnilab decided to begin the process of negotiating for the acquisition of new facilities in Porto and Lisbon, being implemented today, a higher investment of 3 million euros.

 

Company growth focused in terms of human resources, with the entry of new engineers (the company now has about 50) with the aim of developing innovative projects in the areas of action of the Company.
